Final tuneup for Louisiana before the SBC Championships on October 30
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Louisiana cross country teams return to Aggieland for the second time this season when the Ragin' Cajuns compete in the annual Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course.
The men's 8K race is scheduled for 8:15 a.m., followed by the women's 6K event at 8:50 a.m. The meet marks the final tuneup for Louisiana before competing in the Sun Belt Conference Championships on October 30 in Foley, Ala.
Live results can be found here.
The women's field features 14 of the top 15 teams in the South Central Region, including Louisiana, which is ranked No. 13 in the latest regional poll. No. 27 Arkansas also highlights a competitive field.
Louisiana opened its season at the Texas A&M Invitational in September and will return to College Station on Nov. 13 for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships.
The Ragin' Cajuns last competed Sept. 26 at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede in Lake Charles, where both squads turned in strong performances. Isabelle Russell led five Louisiana runners to top-10 finishes as the women captured the team title, while Matthew Maynard placed fourth to pace the men to a third-place finish.
