Louisiana's Ferguson Set To Compete On Opening Day at NCAA Championships

Javelin standout opens in Flight 1 at 8:15 p.m. CT
EUGENE, Ore. – Louisiana's Jemar Ferguson will make his debut on Wednesday during the opening day of the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships when he competes in the men's javelin at historic Hayward Field.
Ferguson, the Ragin' Cajuns' lone qualifier to the national meet, will compete in Flight 1 beginning at 8:15 p.m. CT. The event will be streamed on ESPN+ with live results available at RaginCajuns.com.
Ferguson earned his trip to the NCAA Championships after tossing his personal best of 66.29 meters (227-6) on his very first attempt at the NCAA East First Round on May 27 in Lexington, Ky. The Kingston, Jamaica native placed second in his flight and 11th overall, snagging one of the 12 spots awarded at the regional meet.
The sophomore finished as the runner-up in the javelin at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Mobile, Ala.
