The Ragin' Cajuns look to bounce back from a narrow 4-3 loss at McNeese on Tuesday, where the Southland Conference regular season champions clinched on the final court in play. That afternoon in Lake Charles, Berrat posted her team-leading 12th singles win of the season and the 40th overall victory of her career.
Louisiana (7-2 at home) has been especially strong at Cajun Courts, winning five of its last six matches on its home surface. The Ragin' Cajuns most recently posted a 4-0 sweep of Northwestern State on April 1, highlighted by three straight-set singles victories.
UL has been powered throughout the season by strong singles play. Berrat anchors the lineup, owning a team-best 12-1 record this season — all victories coming on Court 1 — and carrying a 10-match singles win streak.
Overall, Louisiana has relied on depth and consistency in singles, posting a 51-26 dual-match record. Behind Berrat, Ana Martinez Vaquero (9-1), Martina Della Gora (9-3) and Safia Zebni (8-1 since Feb. 26) have provided steady production
In doubles, Berrat and Nina Krecklenberg lead the team with 10 wins, including three straight on Court 1.
Troy is led by seniors Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis, who have a combined 24-3 singles record and sport a 10-3 mark in doubles. Guirguis is undefeated in 14 decisions on Court 1 in singles this season.
Saturday's contest serves as Louisiana's final tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Championship, scheduled for April 22-26 in Rome, Georgia. The Ragin' Cajuns have already collected league wins over Southern Miss and Georgia Southern this spring.
Louisiana and Troy meet for the fourth consecutive season, with the Trojans claiming the last three matchups. The Ragin' Cajuns are seeking their first win in the series since a 4-2 victory in March 2022 at Cajun Courts.
