Ragin' Cajuns Invitational gets underway Friday, Sept. 25 at 9:00 a.m. at Cajun Courts
LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Tennis team hosts its annual fall season home event at Cajun Courts from Friday-Saturday, September 25-26 welcoming three other teams for the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational.
First serve each day during the two-day event in the Hub City is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Joining the host team in the tournament at Cajun Courts are Lamar, McNeese and Sun Belt Conference member Southern Miss.
Friday's action begins with doubles, followed by back-to-back rounds of singles. On Saturday, there will be two rounds of doubles to start the day before tournament play concludes with singles. A detailed list of matchups can be found below.
Ragin' Cajuns fans will se several familiar faces as seven players return from last season's 13-win squad: Marilou Bressan, Martina Della Gora, Anicia Hammoud, Nina Krecklenberg, Ana Martinez Vaquero, Rocio Navarro and Safia Zenbi. Two transfers - Cassandra Lecoanet (South Carolina State) and Sylvie Peart (Tyler JC) - joined the team in the offseason.
