All nine roster members recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes; program receives All-Academic Team distinction

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Tennis team received the 2026 ITA All-Academic Team award and all nine student-athletes in the program landed on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, the organization revealed in a mid-July announcement.

The 2026 All-Academic Team recognition punctuated a remarkable year in the classroom for the UL Women's Tennis program which also recorded the highest GPA, department-wide, with a 3.78 mark for the 2025-26 academic year.

The nine Ragin' Cajuns to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status (3.5+ GPA) this year included: Marilou Bressan, Nina Krecklenberg, Rocio Navarro, Ana Martinez Vaquero, Safia Zenbi, Angelique Berrat, Anicia Hammoud, Lou Agathe Etienne and Martina Della Gora.

Louisiana led the way with the most selections within the Sun Belt Conference. Seventy student-athletes from both current and former members were named on the list with 11 individual programs earning the All-Academic Team honor.

The 2026 ITA Division I All-Academic awards, selected by the organization, recognize both the top teams and individuals in the classroom, promoting education as an essential facet of the college tennis experience.  To qualify, a student-athlete must obtain a GPA of 3.5 or above. Programs must hold a team grade-point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale to receive acknowledgment.

Louisiana concluded the 2026 season with its first double-digit win total since 2018. The 13-win campaign, which marked the second-highest tally with head coach Stephanie Vallejos, was highlighted by a nine-match win streak and the team's impressive 54-29 record in singles play.

Individually, senior Angelique Berrat earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors following a stellar 13-1 overall spring dual match play record, setting a new career high for single-season victories – all results on coming on Court 1.
