Louisiana opens five-game week with visit from Vaqueros, Cowboys
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team opens its second, five-game week of the season when it plays host to a pair of Southland Conference members – UTRGV and McNeese State – beginning Tuesday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
Louisiana (12-4) opens the midweek slate on Tuesday against UTRGV (7-9) in a 6 p.m. contest before facing McNeese (8-8) on Wednesday in a 3 p.m. afternoon clash.
Fans can listen to both games locally on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app. Wednesday's game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Fans can take advantage of the season-long "Two-For-Tuesday" promotion for the UTRGV contest with two tickets for the price of one in the bleacher back sections, $2 Natural Lights, $2 popcorn and $2 hot dogs.
Louisiana posted a 3-1 week last week which was culminated by a series victory at Dallas Baptist. The Ragin' Cajuns opened the week with a convincing 7-2 win over nationally-ranked LSU on Wednesday before taking the opening two games in their first-ever trip to DBU.
Freshman Colt Brown (.345-0-9) is Louisiana's top hitter at the plate with Lee Amedee (.310-1-12) and Rigoberto Hernandez (.308-3-10) next in the lineup. The Ragin' Cajuns enter the midweek series hitting .259 as a team with 11 home runs and 27 stolen bases – third among Sun Belt Conference schools.
A pair of left-handers will start on the mound beginning with Ty Roman (0-2, 6.75 ERA) on Tuesday with Tyler Papenbrock (1-0, 5.59 ERA) expected to start on Wednesday.
