The Ragin' Cajuns, ranked No. 16 in the latest RPI poll, look to get back into the win column after dropping a three-game SBC series at Texas State. Louisiana opened a four-game road trip last week with a 6-3 win over Big 12 member Houston, improving the Cajuns' record in midweek games to 6-0.

Left-hander Ty Roman (1-2, 6.15 ERA) will earn the start on the mound for Louisiana, with SLU countering with right-hander Luke Lirette (1-0, 3.86 ERA).

Colt Brown (.333-1-15) and Lee Amedee (.301-1-14) are Louisiana's top two hitters, with Drew Markle (.271-3-15) reaching base safely in his last 12 games. Amedee, who has 10 extra-base hits this season, leads Louisiana with a .433 on-base percentage.

Louisiana leads the all-time series with the Lions that dates back to 1947, 86-76.
