Indoor season begins Friday at LSU Purple Tiger, Louisiana Classics set for March 20-21
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's track and field team released its 2026 schedule, which includes the LSU Purple Tiger on Friday to open the indoor season along with hosting the annual Louisiana Classics on March 20-21.
Louisiana will compete in five events during the indoor season, culminating with the men's team looking to defend its Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track and Field title at the SBC Championships scheduled for Feb. 23-24 in Birmingham, Ala.
The Ragin' Cajuns will compete in indoor events at McNeese (Jan. 30), Missouri (Jan. 30-31), and Houston (Feb. 13) before opening the outdoor season on March 14 at the Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles.
Louisiana will host its lone home event of the season at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex before competing at the Carl Kight Invite and Multi on April 2-3 in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Ragin' Cajuns will compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., on April 3-4, the Crimson Tide Invitational (April 11) and LSU Alumni Gold (April 25).
The final event of the outdoor season will take place at the Jaguar Invitational on May 1 with a return trip to Mobile, Ala., for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships set for May 14-16.
Qualified athletes will advance to the NCAA East Regional set for May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky., with the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
