Louisiana Set for Postseason Rematch With Troy

The two sides battled to a 4-3 final with Troy coming out on top in the regular season
ROME, Georgia – The Louisiana men's tennis team is set to face Troy in a rematch of an epic regular season battle in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Friday at 9 a.m. in Rome, Georgia.
Oriol Fillat Gimenez was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team on Thursday. The senior won eight singles matches for Louisiana playing courts one and two all season. Fillat Gimenez also won seven doubles contests, playing on court one all conference season in both singles and doubles.
Samuel Kyjaci led the Cajuns in combined wins with 19, including an 11-8 record in singles. The Ragin' Cajuns also had strong seasons out of William Jade and Mason Landreth who won seven matches each. Landreth got stronger as the season went on, going 4-1 in conference play.
These two sides met back on April 6, in the final home match for Louisiana. The Trojans took a 3-0 lead before wins by Kyjaci, Landreth, and Darius Balan got Louisiana back in the match. The final match on court two came down to a third set but the Trojans pulled out the victory, 4-3.
The winner of the match advances to the conference semifinals where they will face the winner of regular season champion Old Dominion and James Madison on Saturday.
