Louisiana closes the regular season tomorrow against Old Dominion
HARRISONBURG, Virginia – The Louisiana men's tennis team picked up a big road win on Saturday with a 4-1 victory over James Madison. The Cajuns moved into the top half of the league standings heading into the final match of the regular season tomorrow.
The Dukes took the first doubles match of the day, winning 6-2 on court three. The Ragin' Cajuns bounced back with Samuel Kyjaci and Leonard Tramolay winning on two, 6-2, before Oriol Fillat Gimenez and William Jade clinched the point on court one, 6-4.
Louisiana carried the momentum over to singles, where only three matches were played at a time due to the match being moved indoors. After JMU won on court one to tie the match, Louisiana won on courts two, three, and four for the win. Jade took his match on court two in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, rallying from behind in the third set to win. William Ribero earned his first win of the spring, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, on court three. Kyjaci finished the match on four with a 6-1, 6-3 win to give the Cajuns their 10th win of the year.
The Cajuns close the regular season tomorrow at league-leading Old Dominion before turning their attention towards the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
