Berrat and Prulla Earn Fourth Doubles Win in SBC Opener

The Cajuns had won five in a row heading into the weekend
CONWAY, S.C. – The doubles duo of Angelique Berrat and Jenaila Prulla earned their fourth doubles win of 2025 on Friday but it wasn't enough as the Louisiana women's tennis team fell to Coastal Carolina, 4-0, in the team's Sun Belt Conference opener.
Berrat and Prulla won 6-3 on court one in doubles after the Chanticleers took the match on court three. The Cajuns had a chance to steal the doubles point on the road but the Chants closed it out on court two, 6-4, to take the point.
The Cajuns competed in singles despite being unable to pick a point. Nina Krecklenberg led in the second set, 6-3, 3-2, but her match went unfinished. Berrat on court one was about to enter a third set after dropping the first before her match was unfinished, 6-7 (1), 5-2. Rocio Navarro was locked in a battle at the start of the third set, 2-6, 6-3, 0-1, but the Chants clinched the match with wins on courts two, four, and five.
Louisiana continues conference play on Sunday when they face Georgia Southern at 9 a.m. CT in Statesboro, Georgia.
