Louisiana returns home for three of their final four matches
HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – The Louisiana women's tennis team closed the weekend with a 4-1 win at Southern Miss on Sunday. It was the fifth road win of the year for the Ragin' Cajuns.
The day started with one of the closest doubles points of the year. Angelique Berrat and Ana Martinez Vaquero won on court one, 6-3, to get things going. The Golden Eagles responded with a 7-5 victory on two, putting the point all up to court three. In a tiebreaker, Jenaila Prulla and Ivana Castillo came away victorious, 7-6 (8-6), to clinch the point.
Louisiana carried the momentum over to singles. Berrat took a quick 6-0, 6-1 win on court one for the second point. Karolina Skowronska followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court five. After the home side won on court two, Castillo clinched the match on six, winning 6-2, 6-1.
The Ragin' Cajuns return home for three of their final four regular season matches. They'll start the weekend on Friday against No. 41 Old Dominion at Cajun Courts.
