Cajuns Ready to Host Louisiana Classics

Louisiana looks for a repeat performance of last year’s event
LAFAYETTEÂ - Teams from all across the state will travel to the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex for the Louisiana Classics beginning on Friday before a busy Saturday full of events.
Joining the Ragin' Cajuns this weekend in Lafayette are Alcorn, Centenary, Dillard, McNeese, Nicholls, Southern, Southeastern, ULM, and Xavier.
The Cajuns opened the outdoor season last weekend in Lake Charles. There they ran the fourth-fastest 4x200m relay in school history at 1:26.27. Kenzie Touchet took home the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.94.Â
Last season the Cajuns dominated the event with 47 podium finishes and two school records. The team broke the women's 4x800m relay record by seven seconds while Lily Murray broke the school hammer throw record.Â
Louisiana won 12 events, with the women claiming five to the men's seven. The women had 10 entries into the record book while the men's side had one.
The Cajuns then travel to San Marcos for the Texas State Bobcat Relays beginning March 27.
