Badon Named USTFCCCA South Central Region Co-Coach of the Year

Louisiana looks for a repeat performance of last year’s event
NEW ORLEANS - After winning the Sun Belt Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, head coach Tommy Badon was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Men's Co-Coach of the Year for the South Central Region. Badon also earned SBC Men's Coach of the Year honors.
In his second year as head coach at Louisiana, Badon led the Ragin' Cajuns to their first team title since 1996. Among his pupils was Lawson Jacobs, who was named SBC Indoor Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year after winning the 400 meters in a school-record 45.92, anchoring the winning 4×400 team, and finishing runner-up in the 60.
Badon's Cajuns dethroned five-time defending champion Arkansas State, scoring 142 points with the Cajuns claimed five event titles along the way. Badon earned the award along with Texas A&M head coach Pat Henry.
