Garnett Looks to Join 1,000-Point Club on Wednesday

The senior enters the week with 999 career points
STATESBORO, Georgia – Just one point stands between Kentrell Garnett from becoming the 52nd member of the Louisiana men's basketball 1,000-point club as the team faces Georgia Southern on Wednesday in the Hill Convocation Center.
Louisiana heads into the week with a two-game road winning streak as they look to keep pace in the Sun Belt Conference. The Ragin' Cajuns enter the week tied for eighth in the league but just two games back of four teams tied for third. A win would give Louisiana the tiebreaker over Georgia Southern who is a game behind the Cajuns.
Garnett scored 12 points in Saturday's overtime contest with South Alabama, putting him at 999 for his career. He would become the third Cajun in as many years to reach that milestone, joining former teammates Jordan Brown and Kobe Julien. The senior already has had a year of milestones, becoming the program's all-time leader in games played, and is currently fourth in program history with 231 made threes.
Georgia Southern has been streaky over the last nine games, with a three-game winning streak sandwiched around a pair of three-game losing streaks. The Eagles have lost their last three by a combined 15 points and five of the last six have been decided by single digits. They've mixed and matched lineups with 12 players earning a start this year.

• The Cajuns remain second in the league in turnover margin at 1.96, only trailing South Alabama at 4.96.
