Kyjaci Picks Up Third Straight Singles Win At Oregon

The sophomore is now tied for the team lead with four wins this season
EUGENE, Oregon – Sophomore Samuel Kyjaci earned his third straight win but it wasn't enough as the Louisiana men's tennis team fell at Oregon, 4-1, on Sunday in Eugene. Kyjaci is now tied with Oriol Fillat Gimenez with four singles wins for the most on the team.
Kyjaci and partner Leonard Tramolay faced stiff competition in doubles, taking on the No. 77 pairing in the country. They'd fall 6-3 before the Ducks also took the match on court three by the same score for the doubles point.
The sophomore got Louisiana on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court four. Freshman William Jade won his first set and went to a third set at 3-6, 6-1, 4-1 when his match went unfinished. Calin Postea was deep into a back-and-forth second set, tied at 5-5, after dropping the first, 6-4, before his match was called with the Ducks winning on courts one, two, and six.
Next up for the Cajuns is a trip to Corpus Christi, Texas for the H-E-B Tournament of Champions beginning on Friday. The event will also feature host Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, New Mexico State, and UT Arlington, who Louisiana beat last weekend.
