The Ragin’ Cajuns set two school records and won seven events on the weekend

HOUSTON, Texas - The Louisiana track and field team saw another program record fall and won four events on the final day of the Robert Platt Invitational on Saturday in Houston.

Joe Patterson became the second Cajun of the weekend to break a school record when he ran a time of 1:50.25 in the 800m, also winning the event. Two other men etched their names in the record book as well. Kobe Mendez's time of 7.98 in the 60m hurdles moved him into third place in school history. Louden Boudreaux also moved into third place in the record book with a time of 8:21.88 in the 3000m. Alexandra Johnson's 2:12.14 is the third-fastest time in the 800m indoor by a Cajun, a record she already holds outdoors.

Camren Hardy had a strong day, placing fourth in the 200m (21.65) and was on the men's 4x400m team, along with Caemon Scott, Mark Daley, and Lawson Jacobs, that recorded the fourth-fastest time in school history at 3:12.83.

Chaniqua Tonge won the women's 200m with a time of 24.15. Quincy Simon was right behind her at 24.85 in fourth. Tongue and Simon teamed up with Moseiha Bridgen and Kayla Harrison to win the women's 4x400m at 3:49.95.

Reem Tammam placed second in the long jump at 5.65m, 18-6.5 to highlight field events. Federico Bovo finished third in the heptathlon with a score of 5393.

Louisiana has one more meet before the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships. They'll head to Nashville, Tennessee for the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge beginning February 14.
