Redshirt freshman becomes first UL player since 2021 to claim SBC weekly award
NEW ORLEANS – After helping lead Louisiana to a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten Old Dominion last Friday, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns forward Carson Glenn was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Â
Glenn, a redshirt freshman, had a goal and an assist in Louisiana's win, including the eventual game-winner in the 64th minute to hand ODU its first loss since August 31 and its first in eight SBC contests.
Â
The Lewisville, Texas native became the first Ragin' Cajun to claim SBC Soccer weekly honors since Ruthny Mathurin was named the SBC Defensive Player of the Week on October 19, 2021. Glenn was the first Cajun to earn SBC Offensive Player of the Week honors since Una Einarsdottir earned the award on October 21, 2020.
Â
Louisiana (6-5-4, 3-2-3 SBC) looks to clinch its first berth in the SBC Championships since 2023 with a win or tie in its road-finale on Friday at Troy. The Ragin' Cajuns will close out the regular season on October 29 at home against ULM.
