Louisiana returns home after playing their first three matches on the road
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana men's tennis team returns to Cajun Courts after opening the season on the road as the team takes on UT Tyler on Saturday.
The Cajuns have been led by underclassmen so far this year. Sophomore Samuel Kyjaci and freshman William Jade have the team's two singles wins. Kyjaci and fellow sophomore Leonard Tramolay also have a doubles win on court one. Jade too has a doubles victory, partnering with senior Oriol Fillat Gimenez for a court two victory.
Louisiana has won eight straight home opening matches. Their last loss was back in 2016 to Lamar in a 4-3 final. The Ragin' Cajuns are 12-3 at home over the last two seasons.
The Patriots are coming off a big 2024 season. They won 21 matches, won the Lone Star Conference Championship, and reached the Division II National Quarterfinals. This season they come in ranked the No. 15 team in Division II.
Louisiana remains at home next weekend for the Cajun Winter Classic beginning on Friday.
