The Ragin’ Cajuns won their season opener on Tuesday
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – The Louisiana women's tennis team heads east on I-10 to face No. 16 LSU on Friday night in Baton Rouge.
The Ragin' Cajuns won their season opener over Southeastern Louisiana in a 7-0 sweep. Louisiana won all but two sets in the effort. Angelique Berrat has run her winning streak up to eight with her court one win on Tuesday. It was the junior's 20th win of her Cajun career.
The win was Louisiana's sixth in a row over the Lions. Jenaila Prulla, Nina Krecklenberg, and Kamea Medora started their sophomore seasons with a win while Rocio Navarro and Ivana Castillo earned the first wins of their collegiate careers.
Louisiana heads to LSU for the first time since 2010. The Tigers are off to a 4-0 start, including wins last weekend over Miami and Florida. Last season they went 16-11 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Cajuns return home to face Stephen F. Austin on Sunday with first serve at 11 a.m. at Cajun Courts.
