Louisiana Opens Spring Season at Southeastern

The Ragin’ Cajuns have won five straight against the Lions
HAMMOND, Louisiana – The spring season is underway as the Louisiana women's tennis team takes on Southeastern on Tuesday in Hammond. The team's original season opener against Southern was postponed last week due to the winter storm.
The Cajuns return Angelique Berrat and Nina Krecklenberg, their top two in total singles wins last season. The junior Berrat ended last season 9-4, with a 5-2 record in Sun Belt Conference action. She reeled off seven wins in a row to close the season and finished with a winning record on courts three, four, and five.
Krecklenberg had a strong freshman campaign and finished the year 8-4. She did most of her damage on court six, winning six times. Karolina Skowronska is also back after going 4-3 in singles action.
The Cajuns look to get strong doubles play this season out of their returners. Kamea Medora led the team in doubles with a 6-3 record, going 4-1 with Krecklenberg as her partner.
Louisiana heads to Southeastern for the first time since 2020. The Cajuns are 2-3 all-time in Hammond. The Lions won their spring opener on Saturday, 5-2, over LSUA.
