The home team has won each of the last five in the series
LAFAYETTE – Looking for their third straight weekend win the Louisiana men's basketball team welcomes Southern Miss to the Cajundome on Saturday.
The Cajuns got a strong performance out of Brandon Hardy on Thursday. The sophomore matched a career-high with 15 points in his fourth straight start. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil also finished in double figures for the Cajuns, doing most of his damage at the free throw line where he went 10-for-12. Their efforts weren't enough as Louisiana had a six-game winning streak against Texas State snapped by a score of 89-74.
Southern Miss enters the weekend 3-4 in Sun Belt Conference play after losing their last two contests. They were slated to play at Troy on Thursday but the game was postponed to Monday, January 27 due to the winter weather that hit the south earlier this week.
