Louisiana is looking for their first win of the season
BATON ROUGE, LA. – The Louisiana men's tennis team takes on in-state foe LSU in a mid-week tuneup at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Cajuns opened the spring last weekend against UCF. The Golden Knights took both contests but the Cajuns got strong play from their underclassmen. Sophomore Samuel Kyjaci and freshman William Jade earned singles wins, with Kyjaci winning on court three. Kyjaci also earned a court one doubles win with Leonard Tramolay while Jade teamed up with senior Oriol Fillat Gimenez for a court two doubles victory.
It'll be opening day for the Tigers at the LSU Tennis Complex. They'll start the day, and their 2025 spring season, against Southern beginning at 11 a.m. before following with the Cajuns. Last season they reached the SEC semifinals as a 13-seed and were eliminated from the NCAA Regional Tournament by UCLA in a close match.
Louisiana will have some time off before facing UT Tyler in their home opener on February 1.
