Louisiana Cruises to Wednesday Win at Lamar

The Cajuns defeated the Cardinals in their first meeting since 2015
BEAUMONT, Texas - In their final contest before returning home for the weekend the Louisiana women's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 victory over Lamar on Wednesday.
The Ragin' Cajuns got off to a fast start in doubles. Carla Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat claimed the court one win at 6-2. Not long after that, Jenaila Prulla and Cristina Tchanichev won on court three, 6-3. Over on court two, Kamea Medora and Nina Krecklenberg led 5-2 when their match went unfinished.
Louisiana carried that momentum over into singles. Urchoeguia quickly ended her match on court one with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Berrat followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win on five before Krecklenberg clinched the match on six, 6-1, 6-1. When the match was called, Tchanichev led in the second set, 6-2, 5-4, as did Medora, 6-2, 4-3. Prulla was leading in the third set, 2-6, 6-1, 3-0, when her match went unfinished.
The Cajuns are home for two matches this weekend, their final two at Cajun Courts this season. They'll host Georgia State on Saturday before taking on Troy on Sunday.
