Louisiana returns to Cajun Courts this weekend for their final home matches of the year
BEAUMONT, Texas - The Louisiana women's tennis team heads to Beaumont to take on Lamar in a mid-week match on Wednesday.
Louisiana is coming off a 1-1 week on the road in which they knocked off App State on the road in thrilling fashion, 4-3. Angelique Berrat had a strong week, winning her match against the Mountaineers in three sets to tie the match at three.
Cristina Tchanichev continues to lead the Cajuns in wins with six in singles while Carla Urchoeguia and Nina Krecklenberg are right behind her with five each. On courts five and six in singles, the Cajuns have combined to go 13-7, while also boasting a winning record on court two at 6-5.
Krecklenberg and Kamea Medora have been terrific in doubles. The pair of freshmen are 4-1 on the year to lead the team in wins.
The Cardinals have lost three straight at home to fall to 9-10 on the year. Natalia Turczuk is undefeated this season in singles with a 13-0 record while Megan Do is 10-6 for them.
Louisiana returns home this weekend for the final time this season. They'll host Georgia State on Saturday before taking on Troy on Sunday at Cajun Courts.
