Cajuns Close Regular Season with Marathon Match Against No. 70 Georgia Southern

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - The Louisiana men's tennis team wrapped up the regular season on Sunday at home against No. 70 Georgia Southern. In a back-and-forth match that lasted just shy of four hours, the Eagles came out on top 4-1.
The two sides split doubles on courts one and three to leave it all up to court two. After trading blows, Vasil Dimitrov and Mason Landreth came out on top in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4), to give Louisiana a point.
The action turned to singles where the Eagles took the lead with wins on courts two and three. All four other matches went to a third set but the nationally ranked Eagles pulled out wins on four and five for the match.
The Ragin' Cajuns will head to Rome, Georgia for the Sun Belt Conference quarterfinals beginning Friday, April 19.
