The Ragin’ Cajuns have won seven of their last eight matches
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - Winners of five straight and seven of eight, the Louisiana men's tennis team closes a three-match homestand on Saturday at 11 a.m. against South Florida at Cajun Courts.

Louisiana is coming off a victory on Thursday over Coastal Carolina, 4-2, in their Sun Belt Conference opener. The Cajuns took the doubles point thanks to a comeback by Mason Landreth and William Ribero on court three before Oriol Fillat Gimenez, Vasil Dimitrov, and Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez clinched the match in singles.Â

Dimitrov has been sensational of late for the Cajuns, winning five straight singles matches, and boasts a team-leading seven wins overall. Fillat Gimenez has picked it up of late too, winning three in a row, all on court five. Sanchez Gonzalez clinched the match on Thursday but continues to lead the team on courts one and two. The junior only trails Dimitrov with six singles wins this year.

South Florida comes into the weekend with a 6-8 record. The Bulls have faced two common opponents with the Cajuns, defeating Charlotte and Florida Gulf Coast. They also have played a pair of Sun Belt Conference foes, beating Georgia Southern but falling to Troy. Alvin Tudorica leads the Bulls with a 10-3 record on court one while Erik Grevelius holds a 9-2 court two record. Â
