The Ragin’ Cajuns are 2-1 at home this season
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana- The Louisiana women's tennis team takes on Georgia Southern on Friday at 10 a.m. at Cajun Courts in a Sun Belt Conference tilt.
The Ragin' Cajuns come into the weekend after winning three of their last four, including a dominating performance in their SBC opener last weekend against ULM, 5-2. Carla Urchoeguia has been on a roll of late, winning her last four singles matches, all on court one. She holds a record of 5-2 overall in singles to lead the team in wins.
Nina Krecklenberg, three wins in a row, and Paige Duncan, back-to-back wins, have also been playing well in singles. Both have a record of 3-1 on the year while Cristina Tchanichev has posted a 4-1 record in singles this spring. As a team, the Cajuns are a combined 23-15 (.605) in singles this season.
Georgia Southern is 11-2 on the year, with their only loss in non-conference play coming at the hands of Clemson. Despite their hot start, they dropped their SBC opener at home last week to Troy, 4-3. Ninon Martinache leads the Eagles with an 11-1 record, all on court two. Paula Hijos has also had a strong spring with a 10-3 record, playing primarily on court six.
