Louisiana Continues Strong Doubles Play Against Georgia Southern

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana- For the third straight match the Louisiana women's tennis team took the doubles point. Despite the early lead, it wasn't enough as the team fell to Georgia Southern on Friday at Cajun Courts, 4-1.

Louisiana took the first doubles match with a win on court three. Kamea Medora and Nina Krecklenberg improved to 3-0 as a pairing with a 6-3 win on court three. After the Eagles took court one, Paige Duncan and Jenaila Prulla clinched the point with a 7-5 victory on court two.

Roughly an hour into singles play the skies opened up and forced a delay for just under two hours. After play resumed, the Eagles took the matches on two and one, in that order. They went on to win on courts six and three, in that order, to clinch the match. On court five, Angelique Berrat held an 8-4 lead in a third-set tiebreaker before more rain started to fall. Medora battled back to take the second set, forcing a third, just as the rain restarted forcing both matches to go unfinished.

The Cajuns return to the court on Sunday when they face Coastal Carolina. Action from Cajun Courts begins at 10 a.m.
