John Taylor drove in three runs, including a two-run home run in the sixth inning, while Josh Alexander also drove in three runs as Louisiana (9-7) won its third straight game and improved to 4-0 in midweek games this season.
Taylor, Alexander and Jose Torres had two hits each as Louisiana fell behind, 3-0, after the first inning before scoring seven times over its next three frames.
Louisiana loaded the bases in the second inning off Louisiana Tech starter Caden Copeland (3-1) before Alexander's chopper over first base scored Pastore and Torres. Taylor then beat out an infield single with two outs in the inning with Alexander hustling to score from second and tie the game at 3-3.
Base hits by Kyle DeBarge, Pastore and Torres loaded the bases in the third inning for Louisiana before Stelly doubled into the right-field corner to plate a pair of runs for a 5-3 lead. Alexander followed with an RBI grounder which allowed Torres to score and allowed the Cajuns to post a second-straight, three-run inning.
Pastore, who finished 3-for-5 to lead Louisiana at the plate, drove in Taylor with a two-out single through the left side for a 7-3 lead in the fourth before Taylor would expand Louisiana's lead to 9-3 in the sixth after recording his second home run of the season.
JT Etheridge (1-2), one of eight pitchers used by Louisiana, earned the win after retiring the side in order in the fifth. Blake Marshall, David Christie, Etheridge and Chase Morgan combined for 4.2 hitless innings in relief for the Ragin' Cajuns before the Bulldogs collected their first hit since a three-run first on Kasten Furr's leadoff triple in the seventh.
Louisiana pitchers fanned 10 batters in the game – the 13th time in 16 games in 2024 with 10-plus strikeouts as a team. The Ragin' Cajuns limited Louisiana Tech (13-5) to seven hits while not recording an error on defense for the second time during the season.
Cole McConnell and Ethan Bates each drove in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs with Furr going 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Copeland struck out five in 2.1 innings in a start for the Bulldogs but scattered seven hits and allowed six runs.
Louisiana will officially open Sun Belt Conference play on Friday (March 15) when it opens a three-game series against Arkansas State.
