Sanchez Gonzalez Earns Third Straight Victory on Friday

The senior earned his team-leading third victory of the year
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez battled back after dropping the first set to win his third straight singles match. It wasn't enough though as the Louisiana men's tennis team fell to New Mexico, 6-1, on Friday.
Vasil Dimitrov and Leonard Tramolay got the Cajuns off on the right foot with a doubles victory on court two, 6-2. After the Lobos took court three the doubles point came down to court one. Sanchez Gonzalez and Sacha Grandvincent couldn't come away with a victory, falling 6-4.
The Lobos took the matches on courts one and three for the 3-0 lead. The remaining four matches were tightly contested, with three going to a third set. Vasil Dimitrov fell on court five, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in a tiebreaker. Sanchez Gonzalez won his match on court two, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, to fight back after dropping the first set. William Ribero and Oriol Fillat Gimenez each won the first set before their opponents fought back to take the match.
The Cajuns return to action tomorrow against Utah with first serve scheduled at 2 p.m. CT from Albuquerque.
