Cajuns Head West for a Pair of Weekend Matches

Louisiana is coming off a perfect weekend at home last week
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - The Louisiana men's tennis team travels to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a pair of weekend matches after going 2-0 at home last weekend.Â

The Cajuns open the weekend with New Mexico on Friday before a Saturday contest against Utah. Last weekend Louisiana won both their matches at home by identical 4-0 scores over UTRGV and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.Â

Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Alejo Ferrer Chueca both went 2-0 in singles action with Sanchez Gonzalez also picking up a pair of wins in doubles.Â

New Mexico comes into the weekend 2-2 and coming off a win over South Alabama. The Lobos also have a 7-0 win over East Tennessee State.Â

Utah has lost four straight after beating Weber State to start the year. They fell to Oklahoma State in the opener of the ITA Kickoff Weekend before losing to UTSA the following day. A week later, the Roadrunners once again got the best of the Utes in their final contest heading into the weekend.
