Louisiana looks to lock up a double-bye in next week’s SBC Championships

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Just two games remain in the regular season for the Louisiana men's basketball team, who open the final week of the regular season on Wednesday against Troy in the Cajundome.

Louisiana looks to snap a season-long three-game skid with a return home, where the Ragin' Cajuns are 10-2 this season. Joe Charles had a monster performance last time out for the Cajuns. The junior poured in a career-high 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds at Southern Miss. Kobe Julien and Themus Fulks each finished with 10 points in the effort.

Troy has been terrific at home, 15-2, but struggled this season on the road to a 4-8 record. Christyon Eugene leads the way offensively for the Trojans at 15.3 points per game. Three others average in double figures for the Trojans including Myles Rigsby (11.7), Tayton Connerway (11.4), and Aamer Muhammad (11.2).

Story Lines
• Head coach Bob Marlin looks to become the first coach in Sun Belt Conference history with 150 wins in Sun Belt action.
• The Ragin' Cajuns return home looking to lock up a top-4 seed in next week's SBC Championships in Pensacola. Louisiana's easiest path to a top-4 seed is to win both games this week and Arkansas State loses once.
• Last week Joe Charles set career-highs in both points (26 vs. Southern Miss) and rebounds (16 vs. ULM).
Hosana Kitenge is the only player in the top 10 in points (14.0) and rebounds (7.8) in Sun Belt Conference play.
• Louisiana continues to lead the nation in three-point field goal defense, holding teams to just .272 percent from deep.
• The Ragin' Cajuns have won five in a row in the series in the Cajundome. Louisiana is 16-4 against Troy, including 9-1 at home, in the Bob Marlin era.
• For the 13th time in the last 14 seasons the Cajuns have won 10 or more games at home. They are one of six SBC teams this season with double-digit wins on their home floor joining Troy (15), James Madison (14), App State (13), Southern Miss (11), and Arkansas State (10).
