Tchanichev Remains Undefeated with Win at Mississippi State

Louisiana earned wins on courts one and two in singles
STARKVILLE, Mississippi - Cristina Tchanichev improved her record in singles action to 4-0 on Friday at Mississippi State. Despite her win, it wasn't enough as Louisiana fell to the Bulldogs 5-2.
Carla Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat were in a battle on court one, 4-4, when the Bulldogs clinched the doubles point. The action turned to singles where the home side won the first two matches to go ahead 3-0.
The Cajuns continued to battle and picked up a point with Tchanichev's win on court two, 6-4, 6-2. The match was clinched when the Bulldogs defeated Jenaila Prulla on court four in a second set tiebreaker, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). Paige Duncan forced a third set on court six before falling, 4-6, 7-5, 1-6. Urchoeguia capped the match with a win in a third set tiebreaker, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 10-4, on court one for her third win of the season.
The Cajuns are off until March 9 when they host ULM in their Sun Belt Conference opener.
