Louisiana opens SBC play for the first time at home since the 2020-21 season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana men's basketball team opens Sun Belt Conference play on Wednesday in the Cajundome as they host App State. The Cajuns welcome the Mountaineers to the Cajundome for the first time since 2019.
Louisiana has owned the series with App State in Lafayette, winning four of the previous five contests. The Ragin' Cajuns have had to travel to Boone for four of the last five in the series, including a match-up last season. It's the first time since the 2020-21 season that Louisiana will open conference play at home.
The Cajuns picked up a win last week over Southeastern Louisiana before falling to Lamar on Saturday. Kentrell Garnett reached a milestone with his 200th career three-pointer while Kyndall Davis had back-to-back games in double figures.
After Wednesday's game, the Cajuns remain at home for their final game of the 2024 calendar season. They'll host McNeese on Sunday before returning in the new year with conference play on the road.
