LAFAYETTE – Fans of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team will get their first glimpse of the 2024-25 squad on Wednesday, October 30 during an exhibition game vs. Centenary College at the Cajundome. Tipoff is scheduled to 5:00 p.m.
Admission to Wednesday's exhibition game – and all UL Women's Basketball games throughout the entire season – is free and open to the public.
The Ragin' Cajuns-Ladies contest is the first half of a doubleheader with the Louisiana men's squad.
No television or radio coverage is available. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.
The contest with Centenary is the lone tune-up for the Ragin' Cajuns (17-14, 10-8 SBC in 2023-24) prior to the 2024-25 regular season opener set for Monday, November 4 in DeKalb, Illinois at Northern Illinois in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
Louisiana, picked fifth in the Sun Belt preseason poll, is coming off a program-record fifth straight winning season and a trip to the SBC Championship tournament semifinals.
The 2024-25 season marks the 13th season for Louisiana under the guidance of head coach Garry Brodhead, the program's all-time winningest coach who captured his 200th career victory last season and has led UL to a winning record in nine of the past 10 seasons.
The Ragin' Cajuns are one of more experienced teams in the country with a combined nine players who are either a graduate or senior. Key returning players include SBC Championship all-tournament selection Tamiah Robinson who led the team in assists (69) last season, preseason All-SBC pick Jaylyn James (12.1 ppg in SBC play) and Lanay Wheaton, a 2022-23 All-SBC performer and a two-time preseason choice, who returns for her senior campaign.
