Louisiana Prepped for Strong Showing at ITA Southern Regional

Dimitrov and Landreth look for a repeat of last year's performance
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – The Louisiana men's tennis team looks to make noise this week at the ITA Southern Regional Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns have three singles players qualified for the main draw with five others in the qualifying rounds.
Last season the Cajuns saw the doubles pairing of Vasil Dimitrov and Mason Landreth reach the round of 16. The duo is back for Louisiana and will compete in the bottom half of the bracket starting on Thursday. Louisiana will also be represented in doubles by teams of William Ribero and Leonard Tramolay, Samuel Kyjaci and Calin Postea, and Oriol Fillat Gimenez and William Jade.
Tomorrow marks the opening day of singles play with qualifying rounds. Tramolay and Kyjaci are scheduled to go at 9 a.m. and will be followed by Darius Balan, Postea, Landreth, and Jade later in the day. Already in the main draw are three Cajuns, Fillat Gimenez, Dimitrov, and Ribero. Fillat Gimenez will face Noah Martens of Troy in the opening round while Ribero takes on Benito Sanchez Martinez from Mississippi State. Dimitrov will face a to-be-determined opponent after qualifying is completed.
