Louisiana has won 10 straight in the series
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team is set to face the Southern Jaguars in their first home match of the season on Thursday, February 1 at Cajun Courts.
Louisiana is coming off a strong start with three wins in Houston, courtesy of Kamea Medora, Paige Duncan, and Karolina Skowronska. Medora and Skowronska secured straight-set victories in their singles matches — Medora with a score of 7-5, 6-2 and Skowronska at 7-5, 6-4. In doubles, Medora and Duncan claimed a 6-4 victory. Despite their best efforts, the Cajuns narrowly fell short against the Cougars, finishing the match at 4-3.
Last season the Jaguars finished eighth in the SWAC with an overall record of 2-16. Louisiana has defeated the Jaguars in their last 10 meetings since 2013. In their latest match on February 10, 2023, the Cajuns sealed a 6-1 victory, with Carla Urchoeguia, Angelique Berrat, and Cristina Tchanichev earning wins.
