All three Cajun freshmen battled to a third set
FORT MYERS, Florida - Vasil Dimitrov and Mason Landreth earned their first victories of the spring on Saturday against Florida Gulf Coast. It was a tightly contested battle, with three singles matches needing a third set, but the Cajuns fell 5-2.
It'd be tough for the doubles point to be much closer. The Eagles took the first one on court three, 6-4, while the other two were even closer. They pulled out the point by taking court one 7-6 in a tiebreaker while over on court two, the Cajuns trailed 6-5 when that match was called.
Dimitrov picked up his victory in straight sets on court three, 7-5, 6-2. The freshman Landreth needed a third set but earned his first spring victory, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. After falling on courts two and four the Cajuns rallied behind their freshman and had a chance for the comeback win.
Leonard Tramolay won the opening set but was taken to a third set on court five. Over on court one, Samuel Kyjaci won set two after dropping the first to force a decisive third set. Both freshmen would fall, with Kyjaci dropping a tiebreaker.
