Louisiana now heads to Athens, Georgia for the ITA Indoor Nationals
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - The Louisiana men's tennis team fell at LSU, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Baton Rouge. It's the final tune-up for the Cajuns as they head to the ITA Indoor Nationals starting this weekend in Athens, Georgia.
The doubles pairing of Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Leonard Tramolay were in a tight battle on court two, tied at 4-4, before LSU took the doubles point, leaving the match unfinished.
Singles play on courts five and six was tight with a pair of Cajun freshmen leading the way. Mason Landreth fell 6-4, 6-3 on court five while Leonard Tramolay dropped his match on court six, 6-2, 6-4. Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez had the early lead on court one before his serve was broken, falling 6-3, 6-0.
The Cajuns take on No. 19 Georgia in the opening round of the ITA Indoor Championships. Louisiana plays the Bulldogs on Sunday before taking on either No. 18 Texas A&M or Auburn on Monday.
