Louisiana Travels to Face Marshall in SBC Series

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team returns to Sun Belt Conference action when it begins a three-game series on Thursday against league newcomer Marshall at GoMart Ballpark.
 
First pitch for Thursday's is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT. The series will resume on Friday at 5 p.m. CT before concluding on Saturday at noon CT. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app. Fans can also follow live stats at CajunStats.com.
 
Louisiana (20-9, 6-3 Sun Belt) makes its second SBC road trip of the season after taking two of three games at South Alabama on March 24-25. The Ragin' Cajuns earned a wild 8-7 win over Tulane on Tuesday as Heath Hood scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning.
 
The meeting against Marshall (13-13, 4-5 Sun Belt) is the first between the schools on the diamond. Marshall dropped a 15-9 contest to No. 24-ranked West Virginia on Wednesday.
 
Louisiana will send right-hander Jake Hammond (2-2, 3.82 ERA) to the mound in Thursday's opener Blake McGehee (0-0, 0.00 ERA) expected to start on Friday. The Ragin' Cajuns will send right-hander Jackson Nezuh (4-1, 8.05 ERA) to the mound in Saturday's finale.
 
The Thundering Herd will send right-hander Patrick Copen (2-2. 4.30 ERA) to the mound in Thursday's opener before southpaw Raymond Pacella (0-2, 6.82 ERA) getting the start on Friday. Right-hander Zac Addkison (1-3, 3.47 ERA) will earn the start for Marshall in Satursday's finale.
