Louisiana Travels To Compete In Grand Bear Match Play

SAUCIER, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team competes in its final regular-season event prior to the Sun Belt Conference Championships when it opens play in the Grand Bear Match Play event on Tuesday at Grand Bear Golf Club.

Louisiana will open play in the four-team field against South Alabama beginning at 8:42 a.m. Host Southern Miss will open play against New Orleans at 8 a.m.

The consolation match will take place at 1 p.m., while the championship match will start at 1:42 p.m. All four matches will start at hole No. 1. Each match garners their respective team one point and the team with the most points wins that team's match.

There is no live scoring available for the event.

Louisiana will field a six-man lineup with Malan Potgieter manning the No. 1 spot and competing against South Alabama's Jordan Plunkett at 9:15 a.m.

Freshman Maximilian Feistmantl will open the day for Louisiana when he faces James Skeet at 8:42 a.m. Jake Marler will play opposite of USA's Hugo Thyr at 8:49 with Dylan Keating competing against Will Skipp at 8:56.

Senior Charlie Flynn will tee off at 9:01 a.m. against USA's Jack Hearn before Eli Ortego will square off against Jacob LeCroy at 9:08 a.m.
