The Ragin’ Cajuns are 4-1 at home this season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana women's tennis team looks to remain undefeated at home as they open Sun Belt Conference play against Old Dominion at Cajun Courts in Lafayette. The Ragin' Cajuns have won four of their last five matches and are 4-1 at home this season.
Last Thursday, Louisiana defended their home courts with a 5-2 win over McNeese. The Ragin' Cajuns have been terrific this season on court two, going 5-2, with Carla Urchoeguia picking up four of those wins. Angelique Berrat has played well this season, winning four straight matches to improve to 4-2 on the season. In doubles, Momoko Yoshimura and Angel Santiago have the top record on the team at 3-1 this spring.
The Monarchs come in 5-4, but all four losses have come from ranked opponents. Last Sunday they nearly upset No. 17 Kansas at home but fell 4-3. Tatsiana Sasnouskaya is 5-3 on court one, including 4-2 against nationally ranked opponents. Shahar Biran has also been strong for them winning five matches as well. They've been strong at doubles as well, going 5-2 on court one.
