Ragin’ Cajuns Top Nicholls, 6-1, to Open Louisiana Winter Classic

LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana men's tennis began play at the Louisiana Winter Classic with a 6-1 victory over Nicholls on Friday at Cajun Courts.
The Ragin' Cajuns (3-3) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in doubles as William Ribero and Alejo Ferrer Chueca defeated Quentin Lamothe and Omar Morsy, 6-2, on court three. Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Karlo Kajin clinched the doubles point on court one with a 6-3 victory over Antonio Sasso and Ricardo Machado.
On court two, Kacper Dworak and Vasil Dimitrov edged out Ilian Borlee and Harry Collins, 7-6 (7-4), to complete the sweep.
In singles, Ribero knocked off Machdo in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, on court five before Dworak topped Lamothe, 6-4, 6-1, on court four to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 3-0 advantage.
Kajin secured the victory on court three as he defeated Lukas Morand, 7-5, 6-3.
Grant Landreth and Dimitrov won in thrilling three-set tiebreakers as Landreth toppled Griffin Babineaux on court six, 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (8), prior to Dimitrov's 7-6 (4), 3-6, 1-0 (9) triumph over Collins on court two.
