Louisiana reached the finals of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – After a pair of victories yesterday the Louisiana men's tennis team's run in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions came to an end on Saturday from the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Cajuns reached the finals of the event before falling to UTSA.
After the Cajuns started doubles play with a defeat on court three, they bounced back with a win on court one by Karlo Kajin and Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez over Alan Magadan and Sebastian Rodriguez, 6-2. Needing a win on court two to take the doubles point, Kacper Dworak and Vasil Dimitrov came close to pulling it off but were just beat out by Garrett Skelly and Jackson Ross, 7-5.
In singles, action on court one wrapped up first but in favor of UTSA, 6-1, 6-1. UTSA then took victories on courts five and three to clinch the match over Louisiana. On court two Alejo Ferrer Chueca's match went unfinished despite the Cajuns leading, 6-7 (0-4), 0-1. Kajin had a close one on court four that went unfinished, 7-5, 0-1, while William Ribero was unfinished over on court six, 6-2, 4-2.
