Louisiana Closes Out Weekend Homestand with 4-3 Victory over Southeastern

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana women's tennis closed out its weekend homestand at Cajun Courts with a 4-3 victory over Southeastern on Sunday.
The Ragin' Cajuns (2-2) jumped out to 1-0 after winning the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. The duo of Momoko Yoshimura and Angel Santiago defeated Gabrielle Dekkers and Panatchakorn Suanarsa, 6-1, before Carla Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat topped Putri Insani and Flory Bierma, 6-4, on court one. Lucie Raquin and Cristina Tchanichev were leading 5-4 before the point was clinched.
In singles, Louisiana doubled its lead as Berrat toppled Kate Oborina, 6-4, 6-0, on court four. After Southeastern (0-2) won on court three, the Cajuns took a 3-1 advantage as Santiago defeated Suanarsa, 6-3, 6-4 on court six.
With the match deadlocked at 3-3 following SLU wins on courts five and one, Raquin secured the victory as she outlasted Dekkers in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
