Julien Earns Second Straight SBC Player of the Week Honors

He’s the first player since 2021-22 to earn the award in back-to-back weeks
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – For the second time in as many weeks Kobe Julien was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. He's the first player since 2021-22 to win the award in back-to-back weeks.
Julien was dynamic for the Cajuns last week, averaging 24.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He was efficient from the field, combining to shoot 17-for-26 (.654 percent) and was 6-of-8 (.750 percent) from three.
He opened the week with 19 points in just 19 minutes against Loyola (La.) in which he went 8-for-10 from the field. He also showed off on the defensive end, grabbing three steals and blocking a shot in the 78-54 win.
On Thursday at Samford, Julien scored 22 of his 29 in the second half and was one point away from tying his career high against the Bulldogs. The junior went 8-for-9 from the free throw line and pulled down six boards in the effort.
Julien leads the SBC in points per game (19.9) and total points (159), despite sitting outside the top 25 in league minutes. He's shooting .486 from the field, eight in the league, .865 from the free throw line, third in the league, and would be third in three-point percentage at .452 with one more made three to qualify this season.
He is the first student-athlete to be named SBC Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks since Norchad Omier from Arkansas State in 2021-22.
The Cajuns return to the hardwood this Saturday, December 9, in Ruston against Louisiana Tech.
