Cajuns Head to Vegas to Wrap Up Fall Season

Louisiana looks to keep momentum going heading into the spring
LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Louisiana men's tennis team closes their fall schedule this weekend at the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Cajuns have had a strong fall season that includes freshman Samuel Kyjaci winning the CCB Invitational last weekend while sophomore William Ribero has earned 15 singles victories to lead the team.
Competing this weekend against the Cajuns will be host school UNLV, Idaho State, and Utah State. Scheduled to play for Louisiana will be Oriol Fillat Gimenez, Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez, Alejo Ferrer Chueca, and Calin Postea.
Sanchez Gonzalez started his fall off strong with three straight victories at the ITA Regionals at Auburn to reach the main event before falling. At the Cajuns Classic he won his opening round match for his fourth victory of the semester.
Fillat Gimenez has earned three singles victories this semester in just two events. He last saw action in the Cajuns Classic where he defeated Jack Clements of South Alabama before falling in a pair of three-set matches.
This weekend will be the first action of the fall for Ferrer Chueca and Postea. Last spring Ferrer Chueca and Postea each won eight matches in singles action.
