Sanchez Gonzalez Finishes Fourth in Final Fall Event

It was the highest finish for Sanchez Gonzalez this semester
LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez finished fourth in the Easley Draw at the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was the final one of the fall for the Louisiana men's tennis team.
Sanchez Gonzalez started the weekend with a win over Nuno Pinheiro (Utah State), 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals, he played a three-set thriller with Viktor Sklenka (Idaho State) but fell 6-4, 1-6, 6-2. Playing for third place, Sanchez Gonzalez then fell to Valentino De Pellegrin (Idaho State), 6-4, 6-4.
Oriol Fillat Gimenez closed the weekend with a singles victory over Pinheiro, 6-1, 6-1. Fillat Gimenez and Sanchez Gonzalez also earned a doubles victory over Thomas Navarro and Aaron Bailey (UNLV), 7-5. Alejo Ferrer Chueca and Calin Postea competed for the first time this fall and each had a three-set match.
Louisiana's spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
