Ragin’ Cajuns Head to Birmingham for CCB Invite

Louisiana hits the road as its fall season nears a close
LAFAYETTE - The fall season nears a close for the Louisiana men's tennis team which travels to Birmingham, Alabama for their penultimate competition of the season at the CCB Invite.
The Cajuns travel to the Country Club of Birmingham to take on a field that will also include Alabama State, Charleston, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UAB, and Washington. Scheduled to play for the Cajuns are Vasil Dimitrov, Samuel Kyjaci, Grant Landreth, and Mason Landreth.
Louisiana continued their strong season last weekend at the Cajuns Classic here in Lafayette. In doubles, two pairs reached the finals in their respective flights. Mason Landreth and Dimitrov fell short, 6-4, to Julius Hell and Vander Woody of Xavier (LA) and the pair of William Ribero and Kyjaci fell to Billy Suarez and Sam Scherer of Tulane, 6-2.
The Cajuns won eight singles matches in the main draw with Ribero and Kyjaci reaching their respective flight semifinals. Ribero still leads the team in singles wins this fall, adding 2 more last weekend for a total of 15.
Louisiana is scheduled to close the fall next weekend at the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada.
